PROF. DR. MED. DETLEF STEINER

Prof. Dr. med. Detlef Steiner is Executive Director of the Hamburg Orthopaedics Centre and Chief Surgeon of the Orthopaedic Department at the Albertinen Hospital in Hamburg.

In 1981, after completing his medical studies, Prof. Steiner 1981 became Surgical Specialist and Senior Surgeon at the Hamburg-Eppendorf University Hospital. In 1985 he switched to orthopaedics. After his habilitation in 1988, Prof. Steiner was awarded a professorship (C3) at the University Hospital.

His principal medical areas are in the field of pain therapy, endoprostheses, and open and minimally invasive surgery of the postural and locomotor systems.
