Final closing of US EARLYBIRD III LP

Hamburg, Munich, Palo Alto, March 7, 2001. Earlybird announced that the final closing of the US Earlybird III LP took place last week. The German entity Earlybird III KG closed last August. The total size of all Earlybird III investment pools amount to $ 225 million (Euro 243 million) thereof about 18 % are already invested in 14 companies which focus on the following areas:
Software (i.e. Mutek Solutions, abaXX Technology, Conject),
Wireless and machine to machine communication (i.e. Wearix Software, Graviton),
HealthTech (i.e.Novasonics, Calypso), Biotech (i.e. Wilex) and
Infrastructure components (i.e. Lumics, BridgeCo).
So far 50% are invested in Europe, 50% In the US.
